About LLI
LLI didn't start in a boardroom. It started in the night vision community, by two guys solving real problems that no manufacturer was willing to address.
Who We Are
Low Light Innovations is a night vision housing manufacturer based in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Every product LLI ships is assembled, inspected, and quality-checked in-house by a dedicated production team in the United States.
LLI was founded in 2020 by Claude Riccoboni and Giuseppe LaPaglia, two night vision users who entered the industry with a direct understanding of the product from the consumer side. That perspective drives every design decision, every material choice, and every policy the company operates by. LLI builds products its founders would buy, use, and depend on.
Community feedback shaped every revision. Users asked for lighter weight, more features, and better long-term serviceability. LLI listened, went back to the drawing board, and responded with machined aerospace-grade magnesium and titanium housings that retained the accessibility and added the performance.
That process has not changed. LLI product development is driven by direct input from its user base and by the founders' own requirements as active users of the equipment. The result is a product line engineered around three commitments: material innovation, system modularity, and lifetime reliability.
Today, LLI manufactures a full ecosystem of night vision housings, power systems, mounting hardware, optical accessories, and filters. All of it is designed to work together and all of it is built to the same standard.
The Founders
Claude comes from a professional sales background and has been an active night vision user for years. He manages LLI business operations, strategic direction, and direct customer interface. Claude is the voice on the other end of every call. Not a representative. Not a department. He answers the phone personally because the people putting their trust into LLI products deserve to speak directly to the person behind the company.
Giuseppe comes from a blue-collar, hands-on trade background and brings that discipline directly into the LLI production floor. He leads mechanical design, product engineering, and manufacturing, and he is personally involved in assembly and mechanical processes to ensure every unit that leaves LLI meets his standard. If it ships from LLI, Giuseppe has had his hands on it.
Engineering Philosophy
Behind every LLI housing is an engineering team that treats each product like it's going to end up in their own kit. That is not a marketing line. It is how decisions actually get made here. When a feature gets proposed, the first question is always the same: would we want this on our own unit?
Our engineers don't work from a spec sheet handed down by a sales team. They work from direct conversations with end users, field reports, and their own experience running the equipment. When a customer calls in with a unique operational requirement, our engineering team treats it as a design challenge — not a support ticket. That's how products like the panning arms, the modular power system, and the monocular-to-binocular bridge came to exist. Real problems, engineered solutions.
Innovation at LLI doesn't mean chasing trends. It means looking at what operators actually struggle with and engineering it out of the equation. Lighter weight without sacrificing durability. Modular power without adding complexity. A housing system where every component can be swapped, serviced, or upgraded without sending the entire unit back to the manufacturer.
The result is a product line that is not just built well. It is built with intent. Every material choice, every tolerance, every mechanical interface exists because an engineer on our team decided it was the right solution for the person who would eventually depend on it.
Brand Commitments
The LLI MH line of housings is designed as a configurable system. Components interchange across the MH product line, allowing monocular pods to become binocular channels, power formats to swap without modification, and replacement parts to be purchased individually.
Every LLI housing ships with an unconditional lifetime warranty. Secondhand buyers are fully covered under the same terms as original purchasers. LLI was the first night vision housing manufacturer to offer this level of coverage.
Aerospace-grade materials and precision manufacturing at a price point that does not exclude the end user. LLI exists to make high-performance night vision hardware available to the broadest possible audience.
LLI housings are used by law enforcement, military units, search and rescue teams, private security, and serious civilian users who demand professional-grade equipment.
Federal, state, and local agencies across the United States.
Domestic and allied international forces.
Teams operating in low-light and zero-visibility environments.
Serious users who demand professional-grade capability.
LLI is headquartered in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, a small coastal town with deep roots in American manufacturing and maritime industry. It's where the company was born, where the first prototypes were assembled on a workbench, and where every unit still ships from today.
Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but it's home to one of the most capable night vision operations in the country. Our facility has grown alongside the product line, and we're continuing to expand as demand increases. What started as two guys in a workspace has become a full production team, a dedicated engineering group, and a company that ships globally.
LLI products reach end users through a network of authorized distributors positioned across the United States and into Canada. GPNVGs, Custom Night Vision, Nightfall Optics, and Aurora Tactical Group carry the full LLI ecosystem domestically, while MK4 Design extends distribution and warranty support internationally. Every dealer in the network is selected for their product knowledge, customer service, and ability to support the end user long after the sale.
But LLI does not just operate from Rhode Island. We travel. You'll find us at industry conventions, trade shows, and meetings across the country and around the world. If there's a good chance we're in it.
