Our Story

Built by Users, For Users.

Low Light Innovations is a night vision housing manufacturer based in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. Every product LLI ships is assembled, inspected, and quality-checked in-house by a dedicated production team in the United States.

LLI was founded in 2020 by two night vision users who entered the industry with a direct understanding of the product from the consumer side. Community feedback shaped every revision. Users asked for lighter weight, more features, and better serviceability. LLI listened, went back to the drawing board, and responded with machined aerospace-grade magnesium and titanium housings.

That process has not changed. Every product is shaped by direct feedback from the people who use it. LLI manufactures a full ecosystem of housings, power systems, mounting hardware, and optical accessories, all designed to work together, all built to the same standard.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Does LLI sell complete night vision systems or just housings?
Both. We design and manufacture our own housings in-house, and we also build complete, ready-to-run night vision systems — assembled by us as well as offered through our authorized dealers. Browse our store for full builds and housing-only options, or spec your own system in the configurator.
What is the difference between the MH-1 and the UH-1?
The MH-1 is our flagship, CNC-machined from aerospace-grade magnesium and titanium with the full modular ecosystem — split-to-mono conversion, panning-arm compatibility, and a modular power system — starting at $1,999. The UH-1 delivers the same core feature set (manual gain, dual IR, articulating hinge) in a polymer housing at $1,499, running on AA power as a dedicated binocular.
Are LLI housings compatible with standard PVS-14 optics and image tubes?
Yes. LLI housings accept MX-10160 and MX-11769 format Gen 3 image intensifier tubes and PVS-14 style eyepiece and objective optics, so you retain competitive sourcing across multiple domestic suppliers.
Can an MH-1 binocular be converted into monoculars?
Yes. The MH-1's Modular Bridge System lets each pod detach and run as a standalone monocular using the MH-1 Monocular Adapter — one binocular becomes two independent monoculars, each with its own battery, IR illuminator, and gain control, compatible with standard PVS-14 J-arms.
What warranty do LLI products carry?
LLI housings carry a lifetime warranty that transfers with the product. We reserve the right to ask questions to verify a warranty claim, and for devices more than six months old we do not cover return shipping labels.
Where are LLI products made, and are they export-compliant?
Every LLI system is designed, machined, and quality-controlled in the United States. LLI is ITAR registered (CAGE Code 9HHS7). For international orders, many of our standalone products are EAR-classified and can be exported — this includes all of our housings, all of our filters, and select optics. Fully built night vision devices and image intensifier tubes are ITAR-controlled and cannot ship overseas; the image tube is what restricts international shipping on a complete build.
How do I buy an LLI system?
You can configure a system in our online configurator, purchase through our authorized distributor network, or contact us directly. Complete builds are available from distributors including Custom Night Vision, GPNVGs, Nightfall Optics, Aurora Tactical Group, and MK4 Design.
